What I Do
I design human-centered learning experiences and AI literacy strategy for organizations navigating complexity in education and beyond.
I design learning that builds lasting capacity.
I specialize in translating complex, emerging challenges, particularly around AI and educational technology, into human-centered learning that moves people and organizations from awareness to lasting practice change. My work bridges research and practice across K-12, higher education, nonprofit, and corporate sectors, drawing on a broad skillset in learning experience design, instructional design, AI literacy strategy, human-centered design, and organizational capacity building.
My work is fueled by a belief that powerful learning should be accessible to every learner, and that the organizations shaping education deserve thoughtful, evidence-informed partners to help them get there.
How I Got Here
After receiving my BA in English from the University of Kansas, I taught English abroad in Northern Spain with the Spanish Ministry of Education and cultivated my passion for working with young people. Teaching abroad inspired me to pursue my Masters of Arts in Teaching from Duke University, and upon graduation I joined Northern High School in Durham, North Carolina, where I taught English for 5 years working primarily with 9th and 11th grade students.
In 2016, I was awarded the Stanford Hollyhock Fellowship for early-career teachers working in urban contexts. The following year, I joined Duke TeachHouse, a living and learning community for early career teachers, as a Resident Mentor Fellow. TeachHouse inspired me to delve deeper into educational innovation and explore education in a global context through professional development trips to education systems in Finland, Canada, and Nepal. You can check out video from these impactful visits here.
In 2020, my passion for innovation and curriculum development led me to UNC Chapel Hill’s Educational Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship Program (MEITE), where I earned my second master’s degree.. That program deepened my research-to-practice orientation and set the foundation for the consulting and design work that followed. After several years working with clients including Duke University, Relay Graduate School of Education, Red Hat, MetaMetrics, and Harvard Medical School, I joined Digital Promise, where I led learning design and AI literacy initiatives for national and international audiences. I am currently building Iterare LLC, a consulting practice focused on human-centered learning design and AI literacy for the organizations shaping the future of education.
